Swimming with special needs:

Swimming, like all sports, is beneficial to people of all abilities.
It is one of the most popular sports and is a great form of exercise, and can be very sociable and as well as competitive.

Splashtime swimming has been working in partnership with Fendis – the Fenland Disability Sports Forum - to promote and develop swimming provision for people with all disabilities. Progress so far has been very positive with demand growing all the time.

Splashtime swimming is committed to continue their work with Fendis and all service users to ensure that swimming is accessible to everyone.

Dea from Splashtime Swimming says:

"I have found working with people with learning difficulties very rewarding and have been very impressed with the progress so far. Students have impressed me so much that one student was nominated for the Living Sports Awards for Anglia Ruskin Award and was a runner up in that category."

Dea also works with other disabilities and special needs like Autism, Strokes, Major Surgical patients and sports injuries to name a but a few... Get in touch and we'll work together with an individual plan to benefit YOU.

Having fun in the pool

"From Lesson One my autistic son has loved learning to swim at Splashtime. Deannah is a wonderful tutor who is always willing to adapt the lesson to the individual's needs, which she manages to do so easily, making it it fun and enjoyable to learn to swim. My son cannot wait until it's time for his next lesson, he loves it so much."

"My son has high functioning autism and Dea handles this so well, she gives George the one to one teaching that he needs, she is patient and will go with how George feels on the day depending on his mood which can be from excited to not wanting to swim at all!! Dea has taught George to swim through play and lots of swim toys!! I am so proud of my son who is so much more water confident now only after 12 weeks, and so pleasedI have met Dea who is a willing teacher who has achieved this for my son, but also now befriended us as a family! I mean every word!! Thanks!
